Aztalan Museum Site
2025 Restoration Priorities

This Registered Historic Site of 7 pioneer buildings includes: Mamre Moravian Church, School House, Granary, 3 log cabins and a Baptist Church that functions as the museum. Two additional Registered Historic Markers can be viewed at the site: The Princess Mound and The Anne Pickett Marker.

The Lake Mills Aztalan Historical Society is a volunteer organization and does not receive Federal, State or Local Funding.  Your donation is crucial in helping us maintain and restore this collection of historic buildings.

Lake Mills Aztalan Historical Society, Inc is a 501C(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible under the extent of the law.

Bornell Log Cabin

Built: 1849

Rescued and moved from London, WI to the Museum Site: 1958

Goal: $10,300

Restoration Needed:
  • New Foundation
  • Building Moved
  • Removal of mortar and rechinking between the existing logs
  • General repairs to windows​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Baptist Church & Museum

Museum. Houses the LMAHS artifacts and collections.


Goal: $18,000​

​Restoration Needed:
  • ​Window repair and restoration on the two 6 foot tall windows flanking the front door,
  • Storm Windows with UV glass to protect the collections from sun damage​
